Are there too many Gentlemen’s Clubs in Pattaya?

Some recent comments brought up the relation of “classic economics” or economics in general and the commercial sex industry. Volumes could be written on the way prices are set for sexual services around the world. Things don’t always operate as people think “they should” when it comes to the sale of sexual services or the industry in general. Even considering some of these issues could leave you with more questions than answers. Today I want to pose another question to ponder: are there too many Gentlemen’s Clubs in Pattaya?

Gentlemen’s clubs have a somewhat long history in Pattaya. They aren’t “gentlemen’s clubs” in the euphemistic way the term is applied to strip clubs in the US. They aren’t actual gentlemen’s clubs in the original English sense either. Gentlemen’s clubs in Pattaya are basically hybrid combinations of blow job bars and short time bars of the type found on Soi 6 with locking doors.

Gentlemen’s Clubs in Pattaya

The first Pattaya gentlemen’s club I reported on here was Club 4. Back in 2014 that bar was basically alone on its little stretch of soi. Club 4 was raided by law enforcement several times since then and went through some ownership changes. Meanwhile a number of other gentlemen’s clubs have opened on both sides of the place so that the once quiet section of soi is now its own sort of “blow row”.

Club Sin Pattaya

But some of the newer gentlemen’s clubs in that section of town including the previously reviewed Club Sin and J-Club are very quiet. Despite being run by the “Nightwish Group” with its popular bars on Soi 6 they don’t seem to be raking in the money either since both bars have been listed for sale for over a year.

Other gentlemen’s clubs on the strip seem to be a little quieter too perhaps as a result of all the competition. There could be something else at play but that seems to the be the biggest issues facing that particular collection of gentlemen’s clubs even as places like Pirates do seem to be getting on well.

Too much of a good thing?

Soi Bongkoch 8 is not the be all and end all of gentlemen’s clubs in Pattaya to be sure. It certainly does have the highest concentration of such clubs though and so it deserves consideration in any discussion of a question such as this.

The many other gentlemen’s clubs in Pattaya also need to be mentioned though. That includes places like Come Together which took over the old location of Carre Blanc when that gentlemen’s club relocated to Soi Bongkoch 8.

It also includes the other gentlemen’s clubs spread all over Pattaya including M Club near Third Road and Excite Club near Soi LK Metro. And what about the Pin Up Club just a few steps away from Excite Club that has closed up shop?

Does the closure of several gentlemen’s clubs in Pattaya mean the seaside city has reached a sort of “peak gentlemen club”? Are there more gentlemen’s clubs than the local economy can handle? If so then what of the other gentlemen’s clubs that continue to open there including Maggy May’s, The Hunny Lounge and the very Pirates-like Club 555?

None of those newer clubs seem to be any busier than the older places but they do continue to spring up on a regular basis. I plan to review nearly all of them in due time. My only hope is that none of the places fold up before I get around to publishing my reports!

  1. I think there are more than 30 gentlemen clubs now in Pattaya. Expats or seasoned punters seem to be the main customers. They are slightly better in value but the locations are scattered around and hard to find sometimes. Some do not have separate rates for bj and FS. I had to pay 1k+200bt for a bj once. I think I was cheated or led to as I was given only 30 min instead of 50 min time that this girl agreed on. It was the first time the provider changed the deal halfway. She was pretty but aggressive and pushy in the beginning . I learned a lesson not to rush into a deal unless you are convinced she will not short change you. Cheers!

    1. Thanks for the detailed comment. These kinds of clubs are definitely more popular with expats than anyone else. New guys rarely just wander in partly because of location. There are usually different prices depending on whether or not a room or booth is used. In some clubs there is no barfine if activity is performed right at the bar. Cheers.

  2. Bada Bing is a Gentleman’s club on Bongkot Soi 8, I didn’t go there, but thought your deepthroat enthusiasts would be glad to hear, Oi from the former Bliss bar works there now. A little tip for newbies, if you are nice and respectful most ladies will give you their phone number, that way you can keep track of your favorites :)

  3. One difference is age. Gogo girls are often in their 20th. In the Gentlemens clubs I visited in Pattaya, most ladies were between 30 and 45 (50).

Go go bars can be fun, have a few drinks, chat and make out with the cute girls, perhaps watch a show. Gentlemens clubs is mostly about hands on activites with ladies who been around the block to many times. Or talking to older expats who know everything you certainly never asked about.

Short time Bars are a better option for day time fun in Pattaya.

    1. That is not necessarily true. There are actually quite a few women in their twenties working in gentlemen’s clubs in Pattaya. There are also many women in their 30’s or older working in go go bars. It is also quite possible to visit a gentlemen’s club without talking to another man. And in fact that is what most people do. Cheers.

  4. I must have been unlucky on my visits to Gentlemens clubs. And yes, older ladies to work in Gogos as well, I remember a memorable session with two girl in their 40th from Silver Star on soi 7, and many “hands on nights” in places like Babydoll, Private Dancer, Nevada. And in Bars on Soi Cowboy.

And in defence of older ladies, I have never had a “mature starfish”? But sometimes I prefer to look at, party with (and occsionally barfine) eye candy.

    Happy Easter.

    1. It could also depend on which clubs you visited. Did you visit to Excite. J-Club, Club Sin or Pirate’s prior to the pandemic? Cheers.

  5. This was before the pandemic and I have limited experience of G clubs. Exicite once, and a place on Soi Bongkot once. And 2-3 visits to La Poste on Soi Lengke. Agree with your review of La Poste, it looked a bit like an english Pub with a long bar counter on the left. My memories say cubicles in the back to the right, but perhaps it was rooms? Ladies in their late 30th. Also other spots in Soi Pothole and Soi Lengke – but uncertain if the could be named G clubs.

I usually dont do much in the afternoons but “if I want enterainment” I head for one of my favourite massage places on soi 3 or 2nd road (past Central Festival) or I do a short time in soi 6 or soi 13 (1-2). Cheers.

    1. There were at least 3 women in their twenties working in La Poste prior to the pandemic. Pirate’s also had a few as did Sin, J-Club and several others. Cheers.
