Golden King is a pinsaro in Tokyo. It is located just outside of Sugamo Station, in the same small area as two other similar shops. For some reason it charges more for admission than the nearby Jan Jan and The World. Though the level of service isn’t necessarily any better.
I have been writing about blowjob bars for many years. It’s been a while since I’ve written about a BJ bar in Tokyo though. Mainly that’s because there are so few foreigner friendly pink salons in Tokyo exist.
Pickings have been slim in recent years. Especially since the famous Happy Hinomaru in Kabukicho closed its doors. Nothing new has come along in recent years. Even though customers continue to cum in the city’s remaining suck shops.
Golden King is one of four Japanese BJ bars currently in operation that will accept non-Japanese customers. Three of the four bars are on the same block. Among the Japanese, Sugamo is best known as a popular shopping area for elderly people. Among foreign men it may be better known as the epicenter of gaijin friendly blow job bars in Tokyo.
A suck shop in Sugamo
Golden King is an assuming and even somewhat hidden shop in Sugamo. It’s unlikely you would ever find the place unless you were really looking for it. Without any knowledge of the Japanese language you could miss the place even when seeking it out.
The entrance to Golden King is marked with a small pink sign overhead. Another standup sign is placed in the street during business hours. The fittingly pink street sign is entirely in Japanese with the exception of the phrase “pink salon” in small white letters.
The actual shop is on the second floor. So when you pass through the door you immediately have to go up a narrow set of stairs. At the top of the stairs you reach a small counter where the male manager stands. Although the shop admits foreigners this manager does sometimes ask those who enter if they speak Japanese or know what kind of a business they have entered.
Pink salons are infamous for refusing foreign customers. Some say this is due to racism or xenophobia. Others chalk it up to the language barrier and complexity of Japanese adult entertainment. It is feasible that the manager of a pink salon would worry that customers might go to far, not understanding that pink salons offer only oral sex services.
Pink salon pricing
Pinsaros offer some of the lowest prices of any adult entertainment in Japan. The prices at Golden King fluctuate with the time. During the day a blowjob costs just 4000 Yen ($27 USD). During prime time in the evening it can be as high as 6000 Yen ($41 USD). Either way Golden King is the most expensive pink salon in Sugamo.
After you pay at the counter you are led to one of several small booths. There are some hanging strings of beads that obscure the views a bit. Though really you can see the entire small space from your seat.
Picture the scene. The walls are an off white and stained with layers of slough. Lousy pop music blares out of oversized speakers as nightclub style lighting flashes around the room. Professional cock suckers come and go from one customer to the next as the manager makes announcements over the PA system.
There is something truly surreal about getting your dick sucked while a Japanese language version of something that sounds like Len’s late-90’s hit Steal My Sunshine booms through the a small space. Especially as the manager guides the next victim to his seat just in front of you. It’s definitely an experience.
Staff, service, and summary
The small staff at Golden King is made up mainly of middle aged Japanese women looking to bring in some extra money. They are average in looks at best though most do seem to at least have appropriately sized bodies.
I have to give them credit for putting in real effort. In my experience the women here will suck you off for the entirety of your visit if you let them. They do not shirk their responsibility whatsoever.
Although these gals wear silky nighties and perform admirably you shouldn’t expect anything special. Beauty is of course in the eye of the beholder. But no one would confuse the gals here for some of the attractive babes blowing guys over at Tokyo Amateur.
I admit I have only given this place a few visits. Even those came decades after first discovering the infamous Jan Jan shop across the street. Still even the best bobbing was unable to fully satisfy. Especially when one of the providers suffered from a severe form of halitosis that became more obvious as her saliva spread from out of her mouth.
I don’t think more trips up the stairs and into the abyss would do much to change my opinion of this place. Ultimately it’s a shop offer oral sex to guys who don’t want to spend a lot of money. This is truly a case of getting what you pay for. Nothing more and nothing less. I give it two stars.
