Phonsawan is a Thai massage parlor located in Tokyo. Make that Ponsawaan. Or is it Phonsawarn? Perhaps the name depends on who you ask. Or what language you ask in. It might even depend on where you look.
The shop has a sign on the street that says “Phonsawan” in English. Google Maps lists the place as Ponsawaan. Then the website of the very same venue spells it Phonsawarn. The latter is probably a more accurate transliteration from Thai.
For our purposes it is enough to say that this is a Thai massage parlor staffed with women who tend to offer extras to male clients. There’s nothing new in that. Thai massage parlors around the world are known for offering happy endings. Even in Thailand itself.
Though that is not always the case. In South Korea, Thai massage parlors seem a lot less likely to offer hand jobs than any other massage parlor. In Thailand, some of the well trained masseuses operating out of mainstream spas don’t offer any sensual services either.
I’ve reviewed several Thai massage parlors in Tokyo over the years. They have all offered me happy endings on their own. I have never inquired about the service. There is one exception. A venue in Yokohama called Bua Chompoo that delivered the best therapeutic massage I have ever had in my life. I have already reviewed that place. For now, the focus is Phonsawan.
Thai massage in Japan
Phonsawan is located in the Ikebukuro section of Tokyo. It is just a short walk from the west exit of Ikebukuro Station. That it means it is also near previously reviewed competitors like Sukhumvit, Happiness, and Moon Love.
Unlike Asian Feeling in Kabukicho, this is not an adult entertainment venue. At least not on the surface. It is of course legal for women to do happy ending hand jobs in Japan. Though there are various licensing and other legal requirements.
Thai massage parlors like Phonsawan offer legitimate Thai massages. The ladies just happen to offer happy endings to men on occasion. At some places, like this, they ask for a tip. At others, like Thai Diamond in Ueno, they may not.
While this may not be as straight up “adult business” there are a lot of features that might make men curious. Late hours, an all female staff, an Instagram account that posts pictures of the female masseuses. The signs are all there.
Inside Phonsawarn
I wandered into Phonsawan massage one evening out of pure curiosity. Of course I was looking to gather information for this website. As a objective reporter my only interest is of a scientific and historical nature. If I have to withstand a woman stroking my erect penis with oil until I orgasm, so be it.
So I ventured up to the forth floor where the shop is located. When I came inside I was greeted by a moderately attractive Thai woman in her late twenties. She was fit with some curves that showed nicely through her traditional garb. Though it was nothing out of the ordinary.
You see the menu as soon as you come through the door. A one hour Thai massage is 6000 Yen. A 50 minute set course with “lymphatic massage” is 8000 Yen. I selected a 60 minute oil massage for 7000 Yen and we were off to the races.
In terms of the space itself, Phonsawan doesn’t really stand out from any other place in the area. Massages take place is small cubicle-style areas that contain little more than a mattress on the floor. The walls do not go up to the ceiling. Things were still mostly private even if I could occasionally here another woman or customer.
Happy ending Thai massage in Ikebukuro
I enjoyed a fair oil massage for about 45 minutes, with just a little light chat here and there. Finally when it was time to flip over, I was offered a manual hand release. The masseuse asked before grabbing hold of my manhood.
When I accepted the offer she asked for a tip. She mentioned 3000 Yen in passing. Though she happily accepted 2000 Yen instead. At current exchange rates that is about $13 USD. Not much in the grand scheme of things. But still notable considering that other nearby shops do not request gratuity at all.
Like the shop, the erotic end of the massage wasn’t anything to write home about. I am writing about it here of course. But that’s what I do. If I wasn’t reporting on the facility, I would have likely forgotten about the place as soon as I left.
Phonsawan is a convenient place to pop in for a massage with happy ending. Though with so much else around it simply isn’t that attractive. The most notable aspect of the venue is that the masseuses ask for money. I give it a star-and-a-half.
