Review: Excellent Health Club in Markham, Canada

Excellent Health Club is a high end health spa located near Toronto, Canada, that has been in business for over 20 years. A bevy of women on staff in this luxurious club offers a variety of alluring services in upscale surroundings. In many ways Excellent Health Club is like the men’s saunas of Asia. Though this place is located right in the heart of Canada and everyone at Excellent Health Club is fluent in English. The prices can also be lower than what is found in a place like Macau.

The city of Markham is less than two hours from the United States by automobile. Yet the presence of Excellent Health Club shows what a world of difference a border can make. There is little to nothing like Excellent Health Club to be found anywhere in the US. Yet here this outstanding venue stands in Canada.

This Toronto area health and wellness spa offers more than you might expect. Sure there is a steam room abd lounge. But the club also has things like a Finish hydro-massage bath and two hot pools. It’s a very nice facility. The concrete exterior of the building doesn’t convey that quality within. This club has to be seen from the inside to be fully appreciated.

Entering Excellent Health Club

Excellent Health Club is located in the New Century Plaza which contains other Asian businesses like the New Century restaurant. Parking is located on the second floor. There is a blue sign with red and white lettering that indicates the way. The entrance to the club itself is easy to find right at the entrance to that second level.

The club covers more than 9000 square feet of floor space. That’s over 836 square meters. It’s quite a place. The lounge area has rows of comfortable reclining chairs that look like they could have come from any spa in Asia. Though the club general feels a little brighter and cleaner than what you sometimes see in that part of the world. The greenery of well placed plants helps lighten the place up. Still it maintains an Asian characteristic.

There is a well appointed locker room that is well stocked with fluffy white towels. Desks with bright lights and mirrors are also available for customers who want to practice a bit of hygiene or perhaps style their hair after showering or taking a soak in the hot tubs. The many massage rooms have nice touches such as bars on the ceiling that allow the masseuses to walk on backs or pull off other tricks.

Unlike many other venues this place accepts men, women and couples. Customers are segregated by sex inside so that patrons can go about in a state of undress if they’d like. I haven’t run into any female customers inside the club though it is always nice to know that they can come inside and enjoy the facilities and services. Things are discreet and Excellent Health Club even offers online booking which makes it an easy place to visit.

Staff, services, prices and summary

Although the facilities are certainly something to see and experience the ultimate draw at any place like this is always the services. And to a large extent also the people providing the services. So although I can tell you that the chairs are very comfortable, the sauna and steam are hot, and the pools are clean, I also have to talk about the service providers and the things they offer.

There are a number of fit, friendly, and skilled Asian ladies working at Excellent Health Club. Each one of these women is very knowledgeable when it comes to using their hands to relax customers. They are sure to make sure that every massage ends on a happy note with the clients feeling fully relaxed and refreshed. The fact that they look and act so nice only adds to the overall enjoyment.

A single session at Excellent Health Club costs $150 CAD ($118 USD). This session lasts 45 minutes and includes sauna, a massage and a 15 minute shower. The double session costs $215 CAD ($170 USD) lasts 90 minutes and includes a doubly-long shower. Discounts are available when sessions are purchased in bulk. So ten single sessions can be purchased at once for $750 CAD ($592 USD) which makes for a significant price cut. Tips are not included.

Excellent Health Club is an easily accessible and reasonably priced club. Yet it maintains an air of luxury and offers a respite from the frantic world outside its walls. I can’t find much to complain about. As the name would imply this is an excellent club. I give it a solid four-and-a-half stars.
