Review: Paradise Lounge in Pattaya, Thailand

Paradise Lounge is a somewhat unique bar in Pattaya. Billing itself as “the original happy handshake bar” the place basically advertises as a handjob bar. Since they’re aren’t so many of those around anymore it is noteable.

In reality Paradise Lounge is basically another Pattaya gentlemen’s club. That is not to say it is run of the mill. It has enough to set itself apart from the pack. And that is not even considered that they offer a “happy handshake” with each drink.

Those able to read between the lines ought to be able to figure things out. To spell it out, the women here tend to get your package out and stroke it when you sit at the bar. So it’s a bit like the old Jungle Jim’s in Bangkok without the dancing.

There’s more. This is one of the few places in nightlife-driven Pattaya that gets going “early”. The lounge opens at the crack of 10:00 in the morning. At that time you can even stop in for a coffee and a wank to start your day.

Babylon Paradise?

There are so many bars in Pattaya that it can even be difficult for a dedicated reported like me to keep up. As far as I can tell, Paradise Lounge was at some point owned by the same people behind the Babylon gentlemen’s club in the same city.

The lounge was even called “Babylon Paradise” at some point in the past. Though it is now known as “Paradise Lounge” and under its own management. The word “Babylon” no longer appears on the signs.

Paradise Lounge is located on Third Road around the corner from Soi Lengkee. It’s easy to find if you know what you’re looking for. At the same time it does blend into the surroundings. So you could just as easily pass the place by.

The venue has a glass front though it is covered with pink signs that display the name of the bar. The word “welcome” is displayed on the door in several languages. There are often a few ladies sitting outside too.

The ladies here are very welcoming. Whether you walk in alone or join one of the ladies waiting outside they always seem happy to see you. The bar does apparently get busy at times. Though on my visits the place was somewhat quiet. That is a shame since it is a rather well run establishment.

The place is medium sized with a full bar with stools running along the right side of the space. The left side is more open and contains a few regular bar tables. Drink prices are very fair and they often run specials. During my most recent visit a Johnny Walker Black went for 100 Baht.

Lady drinks don’t cost much more. And the women here are not pushy at all. While they might come up to you and introduce themselves I have never been asked to purchase a drink. In fact I’ve actually had to ask the ladies if they would like one!

Though one you do buy a drink things get a lot more interesting. Especially if you like a bit of a massage between your legs while you sip on a cold beverage and ponder the realities of life in the 21st century.

Staff, services and summary

There are usually six or seven women working at Paradise Lounge. That is not counting the bartender who often seems to be off in her own world. Thankfully the actual bar maidens here are very attentive to customers.

While the turnover of staff is common in these kind of places, Paradise seems to hold on to many of the same ladies. The two stand outs are the pretty MILF with the big fake boobs and the thin babe from Isaan with the big bright smile. The other ladies are nice too, if not as distinct.

Any and all of the women here are more than happy to grab hold of your member or offer up a bit of how’s your father. They’re also just as pleasant to simply sit with and have a drink.

All of the typical gentlemen’s clubs hijinks can happen here. And the rates are about what you would expect for that sort of thing. Ladies seem happy with 800 Baht for a blow or 1000-1500 for full service. I don’t know that rates are totally set in stone.

Paradise Lounge might look like many other bars from the outside. In fact it’s a different place that carves out its own little niche. It might be quirky. Then again I might be quirky too. Regardless I like the place for what it is. So I have no qualms with giving it a solid three-and-a-half stars.
