I have been writing about the commercial sex scene around the world since 2012. This website has published weekly reports for twelve years. Obviously this is not the only website of its kind. Others also cover sex work and related subjects.
It wasn’t always that way. When Rockit Reports first went online it was one of a select few sites where you could read about things like Tokyo pink salons, Bangkok BJ bars, and Chinese massage parlors. Now you can find listings of brothels on Google maps and read full reviews of sex saunas on Trip Advisor.
I don’t mind the wider coverage of adult entertainment that has developed in recent years. Even if it may cut into the readership of this website. After all you can read much faster than I can write. I have never resorted to any sort of automated writing using AI or any other technology. I write what I am capable of writing and that is all. I have long published annual of other sex industry sites that I think are worth your time too.
Repression against the sex industry and sex workers continues to loom large. On the other hand, reporting on the sex industry seems to be as mainstream as ever. Especially in English-speaking western countries where topics like adult webcams are covered in large newspapers. Or at least the websites of what were once large newspapers. There are also some great smaller niche websites around.
What follows is a list of some of the most interesting sex industry websites online today. Some have gone. Others are sure to come along. At the time of writing these websites produce some of the best topic content. If you have even a passing interest in the commercial trade around sex and sexual entertainment then you will likely find at least some of the sites mentioned here enjoyable or at the very least informative.
International Sex Guide
The International Sex Guide or “ISG” is the longest running commercial sex industry site in the world. It has gone through a lot of changes but the site has been around for many years.
The original International Sex Guide forum was run by a guy called Jackson. He later sold the site and it changed URLs to a Netherlands based suffix. Otherwise the site pretty much looks and operates like it always did. Albeit with a lot more advertisements on the sidebar.
Although the internet forum format may be deemed outdated by the younger generation and those accustomed to social media it does maintain value. Few want to write about their sexual escapades with sex workers under their own names. Social media also has an ephemeral quality. Posts quickly get lost or disappear completely. Forum posts stay around and can be searched out years in the future. It paints a more complete picture which is something that I can appreciate.
Every country on earth is covered on ISG. People from all over the world write about every location they visit or want to learn more about. Some people even post photographs. You don’t have to be a member or even sign up for anything to read through the archives. Though premium memberships are available to those who want access to special features. I’ve always been content with just reading what is written on the site. You may be too.
Yorunandesu
Yorunandesu is a foreigner friendly muryo annai jyo in Japan with a great English language website. For those who don’t know, muryo annai jyo are information booths where guys go to find out all about local fuzoku shops.
These fuzoku information centers can be found all over Japan. They are especially prominent around major train stations in Tokyo. But most of these places are either unable or unwilling to work with foreigners.
The main reason for that is probably the language barrier. Japanese sex shops can have somewhat complicated “systems”. Japanese sex industry insiders often fear problems in communication. So they find it easier to simply decline any foreign patronage.
Yorunandesu is different. They go out of their way to put gaijin customers in touch with sex shops and sex workers that will accept foreigners. Their website is notable for keeping an up to date list of foreigner friendly sex shops in Tokyo. They also have easy to understand pages explaining how everything works. This is must view for anyone who wonders how sex service is sold in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Pretty Night Job
I have covered the Thai sex industry in thorough detail. I have written everything from reports on how go go bars work to in-depth interviews with soapy massage parlor employees. But I have never really talked about the way most Thai sex workers get into the industry.
Pretty Night Job is a popular job board for sex work in Thailand. While a lot of women from upcountry are introduced to sex work by family and friends many modern ladies seek out their own jobs with the aid of the internet.
If you have ever wondered what Thai prostitutes are paid you’ll get a good idea at Pretty Night Job. You don’t need to read Thai to get some enjoyment out of it either. Common Arabic numerals are used along with copious amounts of English.
This can also be a good site to check just to keep an eye on the industry. When new shops pop up they often advertise for staff at Pretty Night Job. So you can sometimes find about a new shop on the site before word gets out to everyone else.
Just be forewarned. The graphical style looks like a cross between an early 2000’s website and a designer drug induced fever dream. If you suffer from photosensitive epilepsy this is not a site for you.
Rphangx
Now that you know where Thai sex work classifieds are posted I might as well show you where Vietnamese sex workers advertise their services. Rphangx is one of the largest and most popular websites in Vietnam for providers.
As regularly readers will know, Vietnam has a massive sex industry that is hidden in plain site. There are no go go bars advertising “free blowjobs” in Vietnam. In fact the more obvious places on the tourist trail with ladies dancing in hot pants are often the least likely to offer actual sex!
But there are tens of thousands of women selling sexual services in Vietnam. They operate through massage parlors, hot toc hair salons, nondescript bars, and of course over the internet on sites like Rphangx.
Most of the Vietnamese sex industry is oriented around Vietnamese men. So it follows that the site and others like it are in Vietnamese. But you can see a lot of pictures and prices that give you an idea what the scene is really like. Don’t be surprised when you see an attractive twenty-one-year-old lady with a great body offering BJ and full service for a mere 400,000 Dong ($17 USD)!
Slate
Slate is an American-based news and opinion outlet that largely skews towards the political. I am not as interested in their take on the latest intrigue in Washington as I am of their coverage of sex work. Since you are here I assume you feel the same.
I’ve been checking in regularly with Slate ever since 2011. That’s when they published an intriguing article titled “Is buying sex a better way to help Cambodian women than buying a T-shirt“? They followed that up with a more recent ditty aptly named “Human trafficking raid in Florida nets no human traffickers“.
They’ve also published great pieces with titles like “It’s time for legalized prostitution” and “Why is prostitution illegal“? Thought provoking stuff that is right on the money.
Slate isn’t all about prostitution. It’s not even mostly about it. But they cover the sex industry regularly and in a deeper way than much of the news media. So I think the site is absolutely worth a look.
Camikaze
Camikaze is the newest English-language website focused on the giant fuzoku industry in Japan. The site blew onto the scene like a divine wind back in May. Since then Camikaze has filled out with a lot of intriguing content.
While the trend to spin low quality content with the help of AI continues, Camikaze bucks the trend.
Camikaze is interesting in that it contains original writing about adult entertainment venues in areas like Sapporo that I have never seen. This is much better than the usual rewriting and recycling found on run of the mill aggregation sites.
There are also several useful guides on the site. Write ups there explain the way unique Japanese shops like the deai cafe and health facilities operate. I first reported on pinsaros in Japan almost thirteen years ago. But I still haven’t covered the entire Japanese industry in detail.
I look forward to seeing what new information will come out of the Camikaze site. So far I have been impressed by the coverage. It seems the website is being updated on a fairly regular basis. So I will continue to check back and see what else they produce.
Pattaya Addicts
Pattaya is home to one of the largest and most notorious commercial sex industries in the world. The seaside city is also visited by millions from all around the globe. Or at least it was before everything changed. Even before the pandemic there was a concerted effort by some to transform the city into a family friendly resort. Time will tell if Pattaya will ever again become what it once was. Until then there is Pattaya Addicts.
Pattaya Addicts is a very active forum that focuses specifically on Pattaya and the surrounding areas. It contains contributions from lots of regulars who live in Pattaya. Some local business owners also post there.
I do not actively participate in the website. Nor do I agree with all of their rules. But I do recognize this website for the value it offers. Even those with no interest in Pattaya at all can learn a lot or at the very least be entertained by the goings-on at Pattaya Addicts.
To gain real access to the site one needs to become an advanced member. That can be done quite easily and it is worth the effort. Once a person becomes an “advanced member” they have to full access to the forum. The member’s only section is where you can find the real meat of the website.
Cambodia Expats Online
Cambodia Expats Online is probably the largest website covering life in Cambodia in English. I am not sure what percentage of the site’s users are actually expats living in Cambodia. But regardless the information found there is second to none.
The website doesn’t only pertain to Cambodia either. On the ground reports on places like Thailand, Vietnam and even Laos often pop up in the discussions. Some major news has even been broken on the CEO website.
Of particular interest to Rockit Reports readers is the “After Dark” section of the website. It might not be the most active subforum in the world. But it is a great place to learn about what is going on in the large and growing adult entertainment scene in Cambodia.
Pattaya Mail
Las Vegas is commonly known as the city of sin. That mainly relates to gambling. Sure there are sex workers around buy prostitution is actually illegal in city limits. The legal brothels are further out in the hinterland of Nevada.
I don’t think sex is a sin. But there is probably no city more centered around sex than Pattaya, Thailand. The place actually transformed from a small relatively unknown fishing village into an internationally renown tourist town after western soldiers on release attracted working women to the area. The rest is history. And new history is made there every day.
The Pattaya Mail is perhaps the leading source of on the ground news coverage in Pattaya. Since there are so many sex workers and adult entertainment venues in the town it only makes sense to pay attention to the place. For people in the city and abroad Pattaya Mail offers a solid glimpse at what goes on in Pattaya Fun Town. While we’re on the subject Pattaya News Flash is also worth a look.
Tokyo Kinky
Tokyo Kinky covers every aspect of sex and adult entertainment in Japan. With regular updates site runner Tadashi Anahori writes about everything from fetish conventions to prostitution busts and nudity in Japanese movies. If you want to know about sex in the land of the Rising Sun then you want to read this website.
Most interesting here are the informative articles about things that we may never otherwise find out about. Even when mainstream media covers things like OnlyFans models it is unlikely to tell us about 55-year-old Japanese bikini models with amazing bodies.
Tokyo Kinky makes for easy and entertaining reading. No subject seems to be off limits. You can even find out about porn stars running for public office and the latest developments in the wacky world of Japanese sex toys.
Stickman
Stickman Bangkok is one of the oldest and longest running websites covering Thailand. The site which is not to be confused with the boy has quite the history. I will not get into that here but suffice it to say this website is read by many people for good reason. It covers the ins and outs of the land of smiles on a regular basis.
Of course not everything published on Stickman Bangkok relates to sex and the sex industry. But a lot of the content does in someway connect to the adult entertainment in the country and the relation foreign visitors and expats have to the scene and the ladies who work it. So it continues to be worth a look even if I disagree with a significant amount of the editorial content.
Decriminalizing Sex Work
Anyone who has paid attention probably knows that I advocate for the legalization of sex work. Decriminalizing Sex Work is a website based around the idea that sex work should be decriminalized. Their slogan is “End human trafficking. Promote health and safety.” That should tell you what you need to know.
This website is of interest to anyone interested in the persecution of sex workers and the fight to make sex work another accepted profession. They have a long way to go even if a majority of people in several major countries agree with the premise that prostitution should be legal. Especially when some of the more backwards parts of the world are passing newer and harsher laws. In any event the news section of this website is at least worth checking in on for anyone interested in the sex industry.
The ZENRA JAV Blog
As I have said in the past, ZENRA is one of the best Japanese porn websites in the world. They publish a wide range of Japanese porn with English subtitles that really bring the titles to life. You can enjoy Japanese AV without speaking a word of Japanese. But understanding what is going on only elevates the experience.
Now ZENRA also maintains a Japanese AV Blog that covers the Japanese porn industry in English. With regular updates the site covers the Japanese porn industry in full detail. Over the last few months there have been some really interesting posts about things like the origin of bukkake and the secret history of JAV.
Anyone with even a passing interest in Japanese porn will find something to read at the Zenra JAV blog. It can really help built up the back story and make all those great Japanese porn videos even more entertaining. It can also help narrow down a list of videos to watch. With countless Japanese AV videos available their post on Hitomi Tanaka’s ten best titty fucking scenes can really save time.
A Womanizer’s Blog
This is a bit of an odd one, even for me. I first came across this one man show when doing some research on the commercial sex scene in Singapore. The author spends a bit of time writing about prostitution in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. There’s nothing ground breaking or innovative in that, but it can be a place to find relevant news on the subject rather than scouring the entire internet.
It’s not the news that makes me check back on A Womanizer’s Blog about once a month though. It’s the strange yet somewhat intriguing way the author presents his posts.
Along with news about brothels and busts are seemingly random posts about attractive ladies the guy saw in the street, the kinds of girls he masturbates over, and politics. All of this is written in affected English and peppered with nude and semi-nude photographs of all types making for something that I find intriguing.
Wiki Sex Guide
Wiki Sex Guide is one of the more popular websites in the world. As the name would suggest the site functions like a sort of Wikipedia for the sex industry. It is a sort of knowledge base built up by multiple users.
The biggest benefit of Wiki Sex Guide is that it is a “wiki style” website. This means it is a collaborative product that virtually anyone can work on. Each article is open to the public to edit. So theoretically anyone with knowledge can weigh in on a given subject. This should help keep the site up to date in terms of relevant information. Who better to report on prices or current conditions than a person who is right on the ground?
In practice Wiki Sex Guide is more controlled than a normal wiki style site. People have to sign up for an account to contribute. The articles also contain some obvious shill inserts and even paid advertisements. Still it is easy enough to read between the lines and pick up at least something. If nothing else reading the site can be quite entertaining. How else would you find out about the underground sex industry in Kabul?
I’ve not always been a fan of Wiki Sex Guide. Especially since entire sections of original articles I have written have showed up in posts there. However the people behind the site agreed to at least link back to Rockit Reports once I voiced my concerns. So I accepted their effort at appeasement and moved on.
