Pinocchio’s Club is an old school pub in the Patpong section of Bangkok that you won’t find on Facebook or Google Maps. A remnant of the past, this bar has over time transformed in various ways. Today it is a quiet hole-in-the wall that is mainly known as a blowjob bar.
This Pinocchio’s Club is not to be confused with the other bar or the restaurant of the same name. Collodi’s famous tale must have been well known in Thailand. Either that or people just like the name.
Those who have been around a while may remember Pinocchio’s as the deserted looking ladyboy bar a few doors down from the infamous Star of Light. After Star of Light shut down some of the ladies who used to work there made their way to nearby bars including Pinocchio’s to continue on tradition.
So today a guy can walk into Pinocchio’s and order up some oral sex from either a lady or ladyboy. No one is knocking down the door to get in. But the place must be doing enough business since it remains open.
Pinocchio’s in Patpong
Pinocchio’s is an old bar in an old place. I’ve written elsewhere of the long and storied history of Patpong. The adult industry centered in the area has really fallen hard in recent years. Unless you count the growing crop of gay bars in the area. Still Patpong does contain some go go bars like Bada Bing along with dive bars such as Linda’s Place and Pinocchio’s.
While Pinocchio’s is clearly marked it might not be the easiest place to find for the uninitiated. It is set back from the street and behind a bunch of other small bars and shops. If you know where to look you can quickly locate the white wooden sign that is probably older than some of the people reading this. Otherwise you might need to consult a map and retrace your steps a few times to reach it.
Inside, Pinocchio’s is set up in a very unique way. On the left side there is a bar. On the right side there are small booths against the wall. The place might seat a dozen people at full capacity. Though it seems to hold just one or two most times.
There are a handful of people working the place. You never know who will be there when you arrive. Typically one or two older Thai ladies will be working alongside one or two ladyboys. Sometimes there will only be ladyboys around. Especially late at night. Whoever is inside always seems happy to drink with customers. Though they are probably more prepared to blow whoever comes in and sits down.
Getting sucked off in Silom
Getting head at Pinocchio’s requires nothing more than strolling in and asking for it. It’s likely that the staff works on a rotation so that everyone gets a turn. But customers are free to select from the available team to get sucked off by whoever strikes their fancy.
I can’t speak to the suck service from the ladyboys. Though at least two old pros from Star of Light have taken up their trade at Pinocchio’s. Needless to say these gals know how to make a man cum by mouth. While these women won’t be winning any beauty pageants, they are incredibly skilled. Pinocchio’s is less a blast from the past and more a place stuck in time. What can you say about a shop with people who will suck you off for a set fee? In most cities it might seem incredible. In Bangkok it is just another BJ bar. There are several others in the same city. All are better than this one. Still, Pinocchio’s Club survives. For now. Two stars.

Hi. Dont you think its a problem when a venue mix girls and ladyboys? Even some Go go bar that claim “all girls” have been known to sneak in a ladyboy or two in the lineup.., I dont like it.

There have long been mixed bars in Patpong. In this case it is more a story of women from a shuttered bar ending up in another long standing venue that already had some ladyboys on staff. Cheers.

I live in Thailand, and I’ve been reading Rockit Reports for many, many years, and it’s my opinion that this is an unfair/incomplete review. The review fails to mention the very appeal of Pinnochio’s, the fact that it carries on the tradition of Star of Light, that everything is conducted out in the open, in the bar. Basically Pinnochio’s is, as SoL was, a place for piggy guys who like pig-nasty super freaks where all three holes are immediately and unconditionally available in full display at the bar. It’s not everybody’s thing, and 2 stars may be a fair rating depending, but the reason for its appeal should have been mentioned. Also I think there’s something where the females only stay until 9pm and it’s just ladyboys after that. It’s dark, AC is cold, it’s protected from radiant heat by the overhang, beer is cold and cheap, the oral skills are incredible from the females as the review mentioned, it’s a good place for some mid-afternoon relief.
Thanks for the great comment Boris. I agree with much of what you say. It’s a unique place keeping the thrill alive. Remember that I reviewed Star of Light in 2013. At the time I gave it three-and-a-half stars. Unfortunately I don’t think Pinocchio’s now is up to the standard that a place like Star of Light had at the time. Some old traditions live on. But Patpong clearly isn’t what it used to be. Cheers!
