I recently had a chance to run some questions by American porn star Derrick Pierce. This website has a long history of publishing interviews with people in the sex industry. While people from a variety of different areas and occupations have been covered here the bulk of interviews over the years have been with porn stars.
Porn stars are probably the most public and accessible of all people in the sex industry with the possible exceptions of cam models and European FKK sex sauna superstars like Kim XXX. Many of them are also interesting people with interesting things to say. The subject of today’s question and answer session proves that.
I usually start out by asking the same question. How old are you and where are you from?
I’m currently 42 and I’m from western Massachusetts originally, but I moved to Los Scandalous when I was about five or so. So I’m basically from Cali.
What are your first sexual memories? What were your first sexual experiences?
First memories? I think it was having wet dreams. First sexual experience was with a girlfriend when I was like 13. I climbed 1/2 way into her room from an outdoor window while she went down on me and we had sex haha.
What was the first porn you saw? Do you still watch porn now?
First one was with Jeremy something or other and Amber Lynn. Yes I still watch porn now, but not with much frequency and never if I know the guy in the scene.
What are the skills or attributes a guy needs to do porn?
Confidence is probably the biggest thing. It’s doesn’t matter how big your dick is if you don’t have the “balls” to go with it.
Are the risks very high? How real of a danger are things like STDs?
The risks might be higher for getting an STD compared to people outside the industry. But they are definitely lower than people who have multiple sexual partners in their private life and rarely get tested. We get tested every two weeks.
Many guys probably think you’re living the dream. Obviously it is not perfect. Nothing is. What’s the worst part of doing porn?
When it’s good, it’s really good and when it’s bad, it’s the worst thing in the world. The pressure to perform is huge. So much to think about.
How does porn continue to make money in the age of tube sites streaming full scenes in HD? Have you seen any changes since you started?
I honestly have no idea. The budgets continue to shrink for most companies.
Do you think there is any less stigma attached to men who do porn than women who do it?
Oh I think it’s a total double standard. If a girls does it, she’s a whore. If guys do it, it’s kinda cool and high fives follow.
Do your friends and family know what you do?
Yep, most everyone knows. It’s not much drama, unless it’s a first date. Then I need to use caution and tact.
Do you find it more difficult to get into “regular relationships” now that you’ve done porn? Do you find it more difficult to get turned out by civilians or vanilla sex?
If I date a civilian, it’s pretty black and white. Dating within the biz can be a bit more tricky.
What do you think about Japanese porn? How about things that spilled over from Japanese AV into the US like bukkake?
I don’t really know much about the differences between the two.
What do you think about prostitution?
I think it should be legal. It’s damn near the oldest profession in the world.
Thanks so much for doing this interview. Where can my readers find out more about you?
Derrickpierce.com Everything is on there. You’re totally welcome!
interesting interview, thanks for sharing
Thanks for reading and commenting. Cheers.
this dude has been shooting scenes for like 15 years it seems, what a life
Yes but you might wonder if it ever gets old. People who work in ice cream parlors even get sick of the stuff after a while. Cheers.
