The Library Gentlemen’s Club is a well known strip club in the heart of Las Vegas. There are several other locations of The Library in the United States. But the Las Vegas club is certainly the most notable.
The Library Gentlemen’s Club stands in the spot of what was arguably the most famous strip club in the United States. Cheetah’s was located here for years. Cheetah’s rose to world prominence after being used as the set for a cinematic disaster called Showgirls. It may even have been the most famous strip club in the world for a while. Depending on how you look at things that spot could have been taken when the Hangover II was filmed in Bangkok’s Soi Cowboy.
Cheetah’s changed names and owners sometime after an FBI investigation. Yet some people will refer to the place as “The Library (formerly Cheetah’s)”. From the client point of there is quite a bit of difference in this topless club. The interior has had an upgrade and the level of entertainment has gone down.
Inside The Library
The Library Gentlemen’s Club is the kind of big and bright place you would expect in Las Vegas. Inside the bar is illuminated with ultraviolet rays that give off a purple hue. There are all sorts of ornamental decorations and televisions playing sports of various types mounted all along the walls. It’s a really nice place with a good layout. Unfortunately that is not reflected throughout the customer experience.
The Library has a two-tiered pricing system that is reminiscent of tourist attractions in Thailand. Locals pay $10 USD to get through the door. Others pay $20. A watered down fountain drink costs $5. And don’t forget the guy attending the bathroom who looks for tips from anyone who dares step inside to relieve themselves. This is Las Vegas where cash is king and tips are expected. The prices aren’t necessarily bad either. But considering the dearth of dancers I just can’t find any value.
Strippers, services and summary
Women are the main draw at any strip club with perhaps a few notable exceptions. There are just 9 or 10 women working The Library on an average night. The ladies range in age from their twenties to probably their mid forties. They also range in weight with the majority being on the chunkier end of the scale. I have never seen so many large women working at an adult entertainment venue in all of my global travels.
I say this not to speak ill of anyone. But the point of an American strip club is to watch women dancing in some state of undress. Beauty is ultimately in the eye of the behold. And standards change all the time. Still I didn’t see a lot of women I would actually to want to watch dancing at this club. I can only imagine that many other men would feel the same way. That could explain why the place only had a handful of guys inside during my visit.
The gals here are expected to dance on stage as they do at most other strip clubs. Only here they seem reticent to actually do that. Instead they prefer to sit around chatting with each other or perhaps occasionally hustling a customer for a private dance with promises they know they can’t keep. Private dances run $20 each and take place in a room filled with booths. These are topless dances with a bit of two way contact though it goes no further than that. That is fine and to be expected at an American strip bar. No matter what I may have heard dancers say to customers in an attempt to get them to “go VIP”.
Strip clubs in the US can be okay in the right situation. The best of the best can actually be quite fun. Though most of these venues are just okay. Then there are places like The Library which frankly seem like a waste of time to visit. I am glad I stopped in to see what was going on. That allowed me to write this report for you to read. For all the reasons written above I can only give this place a half-star. I would have rather spent my money watching a naked beauty of my choosing on a cam site from the comfort of my own place.
