Duangporn Haven is the newest blow job bar in Bangkok. While the place just recently opened it is not totally new to the local scene. It is more or less just a new form of a well known suck shop that has long been considered one of the best businesses of its kind by oral aficionados.
I first reviewed Som’s Haven in Bangkok nearly five years ago. After growing in popularity Som’s Haven closed and relocated almost overnight. The new incarnation of the shop is Duangporn Haven.
Location and layout
Located on a small side Soi near the CityPoint Hotel just a short walk from the old location, Duangporn Haven isn’t yet nearly as well known as Som’s place was. From what I’ve seen and heard many people don’t even know the new place exists at all.
Surprisingly little mention was made of the move online or elsewhere. Further, those who simply show up at Som’s find nothing to indicate any move. It is not so surprising then that many people had no idea about the change at all. In the last week alone two separate comments have appeared on this site inquiring as to the fate of the shuttered Som’s.
Staff and prices
The little coverage I have been able to find on the closure of Som’s and opening of Duangporn’s wasn’t totally informed. Som’s Haven did change names but as far as I can tell it did not change owners since Som can still be found on premises. Despite reports it did not change the pricing scheme either. Service still goes for 800 Baht ($25 USD) at Duangporn Haven. That is more than the 700 Baht charged at Som’s Haven 5 years ago but the same the rate that was charged at the old shop up until its doors closed a month ago.
The staff at Duangporn Heaven is the same as it was at Som’s too although it is now much reduced. Som’s started with a handful of women working but ended up with several dozen gals on staff. Many of those ladies either didn’t make the migration around the corner or moved on when they saw greatly reduced numbers of customers. Some are now working at other nearby shops though others like Toom mentioned in my 2018 write up on deep throaters in Bangkok are still around.
Som’s Haven vs Duangporn Haven
Duangporn Haven is much larger than Som’s was. The new place took over the space of a Japanese restaurant. It shows little signs out of that history beyond the large staircase leading upstairs but it is noticeably large with lots of unused space on the ground floor despite the presence of a full bar and pool table and lots of booth style seats.
Most of the women wait outside for customers as usual. The location is a lot more discreet than the old Som’s Haven. The alley where Duangporn is located is not busy and other businesses in the immediate area include Analisa Massage so no one would be surprised to see a guy passing through for oral relief.
Services are rendered upstairs. There are several private rooms and they’re all about as large as the rooms were at Som’s. Besides a seat each room also has a bed which is new. There are no sinks or showers in the room so customers are given a kimono and a pair of slippers and led over into a large shower area that looks like a low rent version of a Japanese bath house. The area is private but centralized so if there were many customers I imagine some might run into each other. At the moment the place is very quiet so it is a moot point.
Conclusion
Run by a woman who was once considered a star performer and staffed by others who had experience in various shops along with newcomers who learned from the masters Som’s was a very popular BJ bar in Bangkok. Although the new shop opened somewhat abruptly and with little announcement or fanfare I imagine it will also become a popular place at some point in the future.
Only time will tell but I don’t see any real reason why Duangporn Haven won’t become just as popular as Som’s Haven was in its hey day. I don’t think a relocation just a short distance away is enough harm such a business in a major way. In any event there aren’t really any differences between the two places. Anyone who liked Som’s Haven would probably also like Duangporn. Three-and-a-half stars.

Since Som didn’t have a website, one can understand why there was no information about the move online.
Having used Som’s services for years now, prior to the move, I was informed by the staff that it would happen and was given a business card pointing out to the new location.
As mentioned, Toom is still on staff and performs lovely deepthroats. I can also recommend Ning. She’s not much of a looker, quite chubby, but has the same capacities Toom has, and she can also take it rough.
Since the location is still close to the BTS station but in a more private area, I’m sure it’ll be successful and even allow for the “shy” customers that didn’t want to have to walk in front of the Suda restaurant to have peace of mind and come more often.

On my next trip to Thailand, I’ll be sure to visit Som’s new place. However, I think it was a mistake to replace the sink washing with a shower. A big attraction of the BJ bar is the opportunity for a quick release to start or finish the night, 20 to 35 mins. With a pre and post BJ shower the time commitment looks more like 35 to 50 mins. At 50 mins I might as well go to an oil massage parlor instead.
They use a shower style wash area but they don’t fully shower the customers. It’s the same sort of fast wash before and after. There was a shower in one of the bigger rooms at Som’s too. Cheers.

The washroom thing is unusual, it would be weird on busier times, punters queued up for a cleaning…anyways Ning mentioned that Som intends to put sinks in the rooms eventually. As an aside, Ning is a nasty one – well worth a visit.

You can buy sex for less in Europe in many cases. A lot of guys commonly spend 5000 Baht or more on sex with a go go dancer in Thailand nowadays. Cheers.
Go go bar prices are out of hand. I always get quoted 3,000 baht for ST and 5,000-6,000 for LT, both in Bangkok and Pattaya. Word on the street is that certain subsets of customers (Asian, older, unattractive, newbie, what have you) receive quotes in the 5,000-10,000 baht range, but I’ve never witnessed it personally. No yet anyway.
You can still find good deals if you look around. Last year in Pattaya I got two absolutely gorgeous girls for 1,000 and 2,000 baht respectively. Both were working at bars in the LK Metro area. I also got a stunner for 1,300 on Soi 6.
My reasoning is, if I’m going to spend more money in Thailand than in Europe, I might as well get the best-looking girl on the entire street/block. Otherwise it’s a waste of money in my book. I’m not going to spend 3,000+ baht for a mediocre-looking girl.
Other people may have different criteria, but this works for me. I always pay 1,000-3,000 per encounter in Thailand, and I usually get top tail. Could be worse from what I hear.
It seems to depend on the particular place and people involved as you say. But prices are definitely on the high side with some bars now quoting 5000 Baht or more for a simple round of sex. At go go bars like Erotica in Bangkok or Windmill in Pattaya it is still quite common for guys in the know to pay a dancer 1500 Baht for a short session. Yet that does not include the price of drinks, lady drinks, bar fines or the use of short time rooms. So even at these less expensive places the prices can be much higher than what one would pay in a German FKK sex sauna. At the same time there seem to be more large and older women working in the go go bars than ever. Yet the numbers of visitors doesn’t seem to have gone down. There are of course still many economical options include some you mention like Soi 6 where the going rate remains 1000 Baht for the service provider and 300 Baht for the bar in most cases. That also includes use of a room on premises and a condom. In Bangkok there are countless oily massage parlors where full service is sold for 1800 to 2000 Baht. Cheers.

True. I’ve been saying that for years, and more punters are willing to admit it nowadays, but some guys are still in denial. Once you take out the fat girls, the ones over 30, the ones with stretch marks or saggy breasts, the ones with breast implants or hideous tattoos… who’s left? It’s getting harder and harder to find a real beauty. I may be exceptionally picky, but there’s never more than one or two girls I would bang in any given bar.
I have an Instagram account which I only use to follow Thai “models”, and when you feast your eyes on their pictures day in and day out you really start to appreciate the difference between a bona fide Thai hottie and the plain-looking girls working the bars. As I grow older I find myself preferring massage more and more, as opposed to bars. Not only it’s cheaper, but you get more privacy, less hassle, and service is almost always better. A no-brainer in my opinion.

Just visited today (2/15/2020) on the basis of this website’s review. Was going to go to Wood Bar but have it a miss in favor of this place. Visited just after noon. Place was empty and I was the only customer I believe. Asked for Ning but was told she left. Then asked for Toom. The bartender then brought me a girl with a name pronounced “Too-me” . A cute late 20’s girl with light dyed hair and quick thick upper legs (rest of her is typically small Thai). Anyway gave she a fantastic BJ upstairs. One of the best ever. A true deep throat with lots of slurping, head like an unstoppable piston and CIM at finish. Did “Star of Light” in Patpong on this trip too and that was good but this was better. Price was 800 baht.

I went in last week and went with a nice looking girl in her 20s dressed in what looked like gym clothes (I think her name may have been Kaew). I went in there last Wednesday at around noon. I had to catch my plane out of BKK at 3PM, but had time for one last BJ before I returned to the US.
