Interview with Porn Producer Mr Nuttz

The latest in my never ending series of interviews with people in the sex industry is a question and answer session with “Mr Nuttz”, an independent porn producer who has built up a good reputation in certain circles of the internet into the dominant “black bull” scene. Mr Nuttz mainly markets his work through Clips4Sale, a website I talked about years ago in the first porn that’s still worth paying for post that I published. Here’s what Mr Nuttz had to say.

How old are you and where are you from?

I am in my late 40’s & I am originally from the great state of Louisiana but I reside in Detroit, Michigan.

How did you get into shooting porn? How long have you been doing it?

An ex girlfriend that I met in the lifestyle got the filming all started. I have been doing amateur porn for 8 years now.

Is the porn industry difficult to navigate? What are some of the obstacles to shooting your own porn?

It’s not difficult for me at all. I do things my way, always have. A lot of people get caught up in equipment, co-stars, & things of that nature. Hardcore quality sex is what the buyers are looking for. Give them that and they will be happy.

Where do you find models? Have you ever had issues with models wanting their videos taken down after you post them online? Have you ever run into models that were unable to perform due to things like diseases or poor hygiene?

Honestly, I don’t have to find models anymore, most of them find me. It’s a nice change of pace. On the amateur circuit there are always going to be mishaps & change of hearts. Two of my most successful partners asked if I could remove their videos from my studio. And out of respect I had to oblige.

You sell your videos through Clips4Sale. I’ve mentioned Clips4Sale several times on this site over the years including once in a post on porn that’s still worth paying for. I think you can find a lot of unique content there. How did you find the site and how does selling there work out for you?

I have been on clips4sale since it’s early existence. A hardcore fan base dwells there & that’s one of the reasons I do so well there. My studio has been exclusively at the number one spot since they have started the rankings a few years ago, and I wouldn’t be there if I wasn’t making good money.

Can you still make money with porn? How true are the rumors that free porn has killed the industry?

No matter how much they flood the market with booze, drugs and sex, it will always sell.

How long ago did you first see porn? How do you think it has changed since then?

I was introduced to porn at a early age by staying up late at night and watching cable TV. It has changed vastly, no such thing as a plot, wardrobe, or even acting.

Do your family and friends know that you shoot porn?

I told the ones that need to know. Besides that, no one else really knows. If they were told they probably wouldn’t believe it.

Is it difficult to date if you produce porn?

Well making it and producing it is really two different things. I now own Mr Nuttz Productions and I edit and produce for multiple talents. The time I spend on others outweighs the time I spend on my own studio. But once you get a strong talent it can be very rewarding.

What advice would you have for anyone who wanted to follow your footsteps? If it was a friend or family member would the advice change at all?

If it was a friend or family member I would tell them to join the military. Besides that, I would tell everyone to own your own content. Working for a big porn company sounds exciting, but they will own the footage of you forever and you have no say so and get no residuals. Be your own boss. Independence is paramount!

Who was the best model you ever filmed? Which scene was the best?

Are the scenes you like the most the scenes that sell the best? Well, I enjoy filming with the females in my network, especially the ones that worked with me when I was up & coming. I am very loyal to those who have been with me from the beginning. The scenes that you think are going to be a flop usually are a hit, and the sure fire classics end up being duds. It’s not what you like, it’s what your supporters like!!!

How long do you plan on producing porn?

The light is at the end of the tunnel. I don’t have too much time left and I prefer to leave with a respectful reputation and work ethic.

What was the last book you read? What’s your favorite movie?

Debt Of Honor, Tom Clancy.Favorite movie? Wow, that’s a tough one since I am a serious movie critic. Comedy: Blazing Saddles. Western: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Suspense: Mystic River. Action: Matrix / Terminator (original).
