In my opinion, the latest in my long line of interviews with people in the sex industry is one of the most interesting and introspective question and answer sessions I have ever produced. Miko Dai first came across my radar a month ago, which apparently means I found out about her during her third month in porn. Ah, the wonders of the internet. Not only do they allow me to make such discoveries, they allow me to do interviews like these that I can present to the many readers of Rockit Reports. Enjoy!
When and how did you get into porn?
I did my first shoot early August of 2014. I really didn’t intend to stay in the industry, as I was in law school at the time–Georgia State University (on summer break) and did not plan to leave. I saw on ad on the internet that advertised to fly girls down to Miami to do a few paid shoots (for a pretty substantial sum.. I think the ad said $5,000). I have been in the adult industry for about 5 years: I started dancing at a local gentlemen’s club when I was 20, so it wasn’t a huge leap for me to make a trip down to Florida, earn some quick cash, and return to school a week or two later.
When I got to Florida, I started shooting and things sort of just happened really fast. I had a few realizations 2 or so weeks into shooting that made me rethink going back to law school– and ultimately I made the decision to pursue a career in porn instead of returning to school.
a) I liked having sex in front of the camera and was comfortable working with talent, crew, director, etc.
b) Porn is equal to film making: There was an art to it that I hadn’t quite realized or acknowledged until I was in front of the camera. I wanted to learn more.
c) Everyday was an adventure.
d) Quitting school and doing porn would be the biggest risk I’ve ever taken. At my age (25), this was my only opportunity to pursue this. So I did.
e) I was bored with life and scared to death that I would end up hating my life, job, and myself (years down the road). Porn allowed me to do things, meet people, have experiences that I would never have the chance to encounter otherwise.
What sets you apart from other people who do porn?
I think my academic background, age and ethnicity are my most defining/unique traits as an adult performer. I have a degree in Economics from Emory University and (as I mentioned earlier) I went to law school for a year. I definitely know of girls in the industry who have gone to college, are working on their degrees, and/or have graduate degrees, but we are definitely in the minority. That being said, diplomas and education are not by any means a sole indicator of intelligence. I have met many intelligent women who don’t have a high school degree. I’m also 25– which is pretty old to just be entering the industry. I stay in model houses when I shoot in LA (I plan on moving out West once my lease is up next month), so I meet a lot of girls in the industry. Most of them are in the 18-22 age group and I’m usually one of the oldest girls.
I notice that you publicly describe yourself as an humanist and say that having sex on camera is empowering. Can you give me a better idea of what you mean by this?
Humanism: One of the main tenants of humanism focuses on the inherent value of human beings and our ability, as social creatures, to empathize, communicate and take care of one another. These are ideals that I personally align with, as they are grounded in reason, logic and pragmatism, rather than “faith”. That being said, I have no issue with mysticism, religion, or any kind of faith-based ideologies. The point of contention (for me) lies in that (most) organized religions create barriers and (unfairly) antagonize and marginalize certain groups of people. A very general example would be the controversy surrounding gay marriage. Why is this even an issue? The conservative argument is based solely on Judeo-Christian principals that (in my personal opinion) have no place in a “secular” nation (see Treaty of Tripoli).
Sexual Empowerment: Sex is empowering for me because I have used it to financially support myself, explore taboo subjects (that I find intriguing), and learn about the sex industry and how it works. In a way, being in this industry has made me more honest with myself and others.
Has porn changed since you first go into the industry?
I have only been in the industry for about 4 months so not a lot has changed. I do know, however, (pre-2007) before tube & stream sites emerged, porn was a much more fast paced, glamorous, and lucrative industry.
If you could start over again would you still have made porn?
Yes. 100%.
When did you watch your first porn? Do you remember it?
I first watched porn when I was 14. I had just had my first kiss the summer before 9th grade and I wanted to learn how to give a blow job– err, probably because I had told all my friends already that I had given a blow job and it was necessary to do the proper research to keep up the lie.
Anyway, I went on Limewire and downloaded a Naughty America scene with a beautiful, Aryan looking couple: the busty blonde woman with pigtails was the student and her co-talent was her teacher, a muscly, spiky haired blonde man with a soul patch. The main thing I remember is forgetting all about the blow job when I started watching, because the guy started eating the woman out, and I was like — mind blown. And that led to me getting slightly obsessed with cunnilingus and I started watching lesbian porn, which led to gay porn, which led to gang bangs….
What’s your best sexual memory? What’s your worst?
My best sexual memory happened recently when I was fooling around with a friend and he let me stick my finger up his butt! Prostate play has always intrigued me, but my sex life up until a couple months ago was SUPER vanilla. I never got to be adventurous with a partner that was comfortable enough with his sexuality to do things like that.. until porn.
My worst sexual memory is when I was 15 and I had snuck out of my house to meet this boy, who lived in my neighborhood, at the lake (our subdivision had a big fake lake in the middle of it). We sat by the water and made out for a little bit. And then we started getting more into it and I was like.. ohhh I would look so sexy if I straddled him right now.. now is as good a time as ever to try dry humping! So I straddled him, grinded on him and let him feel me up. His 5 inch cock was rock hard and I was soaking wet. I felt like the sexiest teenager in the world until I got up after and realized I was I bled all over his cargo pants (the ones with the huge pockets from Hollister). Epic fail.
When did you give your first blowjob? How was it?
I gave my first blowjob at the end of year party, my sophomore year of high school. It was the first night I had ever gotten “wasted”. My classmate’s older brother who was a freshman in college came and I blew him in the coat closet. I don’t remember too much, but I know, 1) he never came and 2) he never ate me out after like he promised.
If you had all the money you could ever want or need, would you still have done porn?
I probably would have tried it. I don’t know if I would have stayed.
Have you had any issues with family or friends finding out about your porn work? Has it caused any problems in your personal life?
My ex-boyfriend recently (like 2 days after X-mas), emailed my parents and outed my porn career to them. It was a particularly spineless thing to do, especially since we stayed together almost 4 months after I started. My career wasn’t even a huge contributing factor (except for the distance) to our break up: we were just two different people. And also I got tired of faking my orgasms with him.
Anyway, the day that he told my parents, we had talked on the phone earlier, argued and I ended up blocking his number. I guess he got desperate and emailed my parents.. because he’s a snitch.
My parents found out, confronted me, and we’re not really speaking at the moment. I wrote a blog entry in the form of a letter to them on my tumblr.
What advice would you give someone who wanted to get into porn? Would the advice be any different to a stranger than it would be to a sister or close friend?
It would be the same to anyone that wants to enter the business– whether family or stranger– If you feel degraded, then don’t do it. If it empowers you, inspires you, makes you feel good, then go for it.
What do you think about prostitution? You say you are a marijuana enthusiast. I was surprised that it was actually legalized in some parts of the US. I never thought I would see that in my lifetime. Do you think that prostitution will ever be legalized?
Prostitution in some form or another exists. I believe it should be legalized. I can only hope that our society becomes open minded enough to accept it.
Have you ever tried stripping or adult webcamming? How was it?
See answer to 1st question for dancing. I have done webcamming and in fact, I have a MFC account (mikodaixxx). I enjoy doing it, but I haven’t had time to log in any real hours recently (because of holidays, work, life, etc).
Are you ever recognized in the street?
One time a person asked if I was that girl from the internet.
Do you think the average porn star makes more or less money over their career than they would have if they done a “regular” job instead?
I think an average porn star definitely makes more money than what an “average” job would bring in; however, the expense of being a porn star — basic maintenance/upkeep like nails, make up, working out, buying new outfits for shoots and travel — is considerably more expensive than just working a 9-5. These expenses can be partially reimbursed through taxes, however. It all kind of evens out in the end and I don’t think one kind of worker is necessarily in a significant better financial situation than the other.
What kind of panties are you wearing right now?
No panties, hello kitty robe.
Do you ever have sex with random guys?
Not really. I used to be all about waking up next to an unfamiliar face in college. Now I’m okay with just focusing on work and having fun with my friends/colleagues, if the opportunity presents itself….
Does being in porn change the way you use social media? Can you still use things like Facebook to share pictures and chat with friends and family members without having it tied in to your porn?
Porn definitely introduced me to Twitter. I never had a twitter or even liked the idea of it before I started porn. Now, tweeting and staying on top of my social media (as Miko Dai) is an integral part of my job and building my career. When I started porn, I deleted all my “Kat” (that’s my real name) social media accounts. I just recently started a Facebook with my real name, since my parents already know and I’d like to be able to keep in touch with old friends and classmates.
Thank you very much for the doing this interview. Where can readers find more about you?

This totally justifies all the fantasies I had about the few attractive girls in my first year contracts law class :-)
I’m smitten, Rockit, how do you do it? She’s a breath of fresh, Asian-American air in a porn landscape littered with bleached blondes. If she old at 25, she can “retire” with me when she’s 30!! :-)
Nice work as always. And I like how you tried to test her availability with your follow up to the panty question. Sly…
Thanks for the great (and astute) comment. Cheers!
Put $ that she copied her answers from a textbook. If she’s so smart then whats she doing in porn
I don’t know her personally but I do think that there are some intelligent people who do or have done porn. As far as I know there’s nothing about being smart that makes it impossible to enjoy sex or showing off. There’s also no rule that says intelligent people can’t be hard up for money. Thanks for the comment. Cheers.
This girl has (had?) a lot going for her and it’s apparent by the interview. Check out After Porn on Netflix. A lot of them get into it because it’s fun and taboo but it ruins their future plans for anything decent. A person can’t say pornstars aren’t smart because they get into the industry. I’m sure you’ve never made a mad decision, eh? See also: Asia carerra, raylene
So typical. She fancies herself as an open minded, special, intelligent, plus super attractive woman and she desperately wants to shout out loud, “hey!! I’ve got an econ degree from and almost became a <!!! I’m doing porn since it’s about and it me!!!”
She sounds almost like an activist lol.
Well, it’s sad that nobody respects even a hundredth of how much she respects herself. Why don’t she just admit that she’s a cheap slut worth 10 to 20 dollars per load of cum, and also a typical stupid girl who wants to think she knows everything and she’s above other dumb people, but in fact understands nothing of substance and real.
She says as if she’s “proud” of shooting porn rather than reading stupid cases in a library, but look at her, she blocked her ex bf who was kind enough to tell her parents about her “empowering” new job which shows her “humanism”.
But great interview, and thanks for the interviewer.
Just hate that kind of girls. A plain and straight dumb slut would be 1000 times more attractive than another who embellishes her pathetic true self with a “law school” facade.
Thanks for the comment.
Smart woman.
About the biggest turn on there is when a woman could just rely on her looks.
Guess the cat who left the comment above doesn’t feel the same.
Of course, he doesn’t know what ‘humanism’ is so….there you go.
Now I need to go watch her in action. Having some back story always makes it more interesting.
Thanks for the comment TJ. Cheers!
Was actually the bf before said bf in the article, well fiancé actually, and no she didn’t copy it out of a book, she’s actually way above average when it comes to intelligence. A good person too (all considering).
Thanks for the comment. Cheers.
Miko is put up a fake video loop on streammate under NessyYamato and cheating tons of people pretending they are live shows. Not cool.
Are you sure she did that? Someone else could easily have done it using her video.
i’m pretty sure she was in on it, they planned it perfectly where the video starts with her hands on her sides and ends with her hands on the side, although they couldn’t get it perfect so you can still tell its a loop. Basically they prepared for the video loops. They taught her how to place her hands. Not sure who is worse however, her for trying to make money on the side or Streammate who intentionally allows their customers to be fooled by shows that are supposed to be live. At the end of the day, both parties just want money.
I really hope someone writes an article on video loop abuse by streammate and it goes viral.
Porn actresses can be paid to shoot all sorts of scenes that are later used by producers and content buyers in various ways. It is possible that someone bought or made video like that to use on cam sites. I don’t know what is going on here so I really can’t comment. Cheers.
check out on streammate
nessyyamato (miko dai)
carissaspade (cassidy banks)
JayceeXXX (Mika Sparx)
All video loops, doesn’t matter if Streammate bought the license, the users (paying customers) think its live. And they are all in on it, since you can tell the way it loops, it was preplanned.
If these people want a career in media and pursue other legitimate things in the future, they should not try to exploit people now, people will always associate them as scammers. In the end it’s greed.
Thanks. I have to admit that I don’t have enough interest in the subject to investigate when I could use my energy on other things but I may take a look if I get some time. I would say that if users contact a site to report video loops and the site doesn’t care then they should be named and shamed. Cheers.
She probably voted for Crooked HIllary
She didn’t want to have to smack your fat ass with a copy of Forbes magazine, MR Unstable Genius
Hey DT, that’s because she knew Hillary had bigger balls than you, you Effin moron.
Surprised to see such prominent people posting here!
A sense of humor is always the first casualty of war
I thought it was the truth? Cheers.
I didn’t have sex with that woman
(Great post to come back to Rockit. Wonder how she’s doing now?)
Thanks for the comment Willy. I haven’t talked to her since the interview. Cheers.
She’s wrong about how and why America was founded. America was founded on Judaic-Christian principles and values, by Christians, to be a Christian country with freedom of religion. Almost every Founding Father was a practicing Christian, especially George Washington, and their speeches and sayings are filled with references to God and Christianity and Jesus Christ; including the Declaration of Independence (“they are endowed by their Creator”) and The Constitution. America was founded as a Christian country but without a state religion as England, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal or Italy had. You could practice any form of Christianity, or any religion, or none – there was no official state religion – but nearly everyone was Christian and were guided by Christian principles. So Judeo-Christian principles have always guided this country and always should. Without it, eventually, we will become totalitarian – the greatest evil government ever known – both communist and fascist.
Thanks for the comment. Though I have to imagine that David L Holmes would disagree with your assessment. Cheers.
Excellent citation. The “founders” (the Americas were never lost, of course) intentionally eschewed references to JC or any other single deity, in order to preserve that principle of freedom of religion.
And I suspect that T Jefferson would have put down his inventions in a heart beat in order to have a tumble with Miko. Given her brains, their illegitimate spawn might have made the US a more Asian-friendly land.
Thanks for the comment Gipper. Cheers.
