Lips Lounge is one of the many bars in Pattaya. I have been reporting on the scene in the city for well over a decade. Though with so many venues there is no way any one man could review them all.
I have heard good things about Lips Lounge from a person I trust. So I decided to take a look at the place myself. Described by at least one person as a BJ bar I thought for sure I would find something interesting.
The truth is that on two attempts to give the place a try I ran into obstacles. On my first visit I was told by a woman on staff that I couldn’t enter the place for a drink. Apparently I showed up too early or something. Though she did still offer to suck me off inside.
On my second visit later that evening it still didn’t seem like I was visiting a functioning bar. It was more like a place where guys walking down Soi Honey could grab a lady for a quick release. That is well and fine. But it was not what I expected.
It’s right on the tin
The name of Lips Lounge ought to tell you everything you need to know. It’s all right there on the tin. Ladies certainly do put their lips to work here. Though I am not sure how much of a lounge the place actually is.
Now I am not out to disparage anyone. Regular readers should know that I do my best to be objective. And I am certainly not one to slag off ladies who are just trying to make a living.
Unfortunately I really do feel that I was given the cold shoulder on my two attempts to give Lips Lounge a proper investigation. By the second experience I was basically ready to write the place off completely.
With so much competition in a town like Pattaya you might expect ladies to be as welcoming as possible. Especially during the low season when visitors are more difficult to come by. Though I never got the feeling that I was being welcomed into this bar. Even as I stopped and inquired with the staff.
Is it me? It could be
It could be that I visited at a bad time. Or perhaps there is something off about me personally. I don’t say otherwise. Though I have somehow been able to visit hundreds of venues in Pattaya and indeed all around the world.
In any event I was able to do enough research to get a feel for the place. Even after I was totally put off by my interactions with the bar staff standing outside. I never did end up purchasing a lady drink for anyone on staff. Unfortunately the opportunity was never even given to me!
Instead I got some upfront pricing and rushed offers for oral inside. Apparently the price is just 500 Baht ($15 USD). If true this would indeed be quite the value. I am old enough to remember when the normal price for a blow job was 300-500 Baht. Though the going rate in Pattaya has been more like 800-1000 for several years.
I didn’t end up taking the lass on her offer. It just wasn’t an appealing situation. Especially on a street lined with bars offering similar services. So after I checked the place out I checked myself out and moved on to greener pastures.
What is Lips Lounge actually like?
I am sorry I am not able to produce more of a thorough review here. I realize this writeup is well below my long-established standards. At the same time I do feel its appropriate to relay my experience. Especially since I went out of my way to give Lips Lounge a try.
What I saw in my two brief attempts was a run of the mill Pattaya bar with some average looking ladies out front. They wouldn’t be out of place at any beer bar in town. What set them apart most to me was the lack of smiles or any sort of friendly welcome.
The gals I talked to were offering instant gratification by mouth inside the bar. When I asked to have a drink and talk first I was told it wasn’t possible. Even a business-first BJ bar like Kasalong in Bangkok allows customers to wet their whistles.
What confused me the most were signs advertising drink specials and lady drink prices. I never did get to the bottom of all of that. I just know what I was told. I didn’t want to press the issue.
Hopefully I just caught Lips Lounge on a bad day. Though I can only go by what I saw with my own two eyes. A trusted friend says they’ve had good experiences here. I wish I could say the same. Instead I can only give it a single star.
