Bua Chompoo is a Thai massage parlor in Yokohama with lots of local competition. Thai massage shops can be found all over the world. There are an especially large number of these venues in Japan.
For whatever reason, Yokohama has a particularly large concentration of Thai massage venues in a small area. Since the area is also home to numerous adult entertainment businesses, you might expect these massage parlors to offer happy endings. I admit that was my expectation.
I’ve been investigating these kinds of businesses for well over a decade. I have reviewed several Thai massage parlors in Tokyo on this website. All of those offered hand jobs to end their massages. Though that was not the case at Bua Chompoo. It did however turn out to deliver he best therapeutic massage I have ever experienced.
You might wonder why I would bother reviewing a place that is totally non-sexual in nature. I think it helps paint a picture of what is and isn’t available. It might also dispel myths or rumors. Besides, I have long had a policy of writing out reviews even when the places being examined were totally mainstream.
Thai massage in Yokohama
Bua Chompoo is one of many Thai massage parlors located in the same part of Yokohama. And I do mean many. You can find at least a half dozen similar shops within a short work of Bua Chompoo. In fact there are two more Thai parlors on the same block! Adult venues like Yokohama Amateur Escort are also nearby.
The outside of Bua Chompoo certainly does not stand out from any of the other Thai massage shops in the vicinity. If anything, the signage on the street might look a little more worn out than some of the others. That’s if you even see the sign for the shop on the second floor at all.
Once you go up the staircase and into Bua Chompoo you find that it is fairly clean and well kept. The scene is set with lots of trinkets and art that gives the place a real Thai touch. The many Thai ladies on staff do the rest.
A 70 minute Thai massage here costs 5000 Yen ($33 USD). That’s much more than you would pay for the same service in Thailand. But it’s a lot less than you would pay in most other developed countries around the world.
The best Thai massage in Tokyo
After booking a session and paying the fee, a somewhat short and stout woman led me to one of many private massage areas. The massage space was much larger than those found in Tokyo’s Thai massage parlors. Otherwise it looked similar with a mattress on the floor and walls that did not go all the way up to the ceiling.
I was left alone to change into the provided pants and shirt. Then my masseuse came back and instructed me to go face down on the mattress. What followed was seventy minutes straight of the most relaxing and thorough massage I could have ever dreamed of.
The masseuse stretched and kneaded my entire body in a way that relieved any and all stress and pain from my body. At no point was it overly strenuous or painful. Towards the end she even massaged my ears! It felt a lot better than I expected. I walked out feeling fully refreshed even though I was never offered a happy ending of any kind.
I can honestly say that Bua Chompoo delivered the best therapeutic massage I have ever had in my life. This is coming from a person who has had thousands of massages both inside and outside of Thailand. I walked in thinking I would probably get a mediocre body rub and a hand job. I left feeling better than I had in a long time.
Perhaps I just got lucky and found a spectacularly adept masseuse at Bua Chompoo this day. Or maybe it comes down to the shop. If I am even back in the area I will certainly stop in to find out. This is not an adult oriented massage parlor. But it is a great mainstream massage shop.
