252 Massage is a fishbowl style massage parlor in the heart of Phnom Penh. As the tattered white sign in the street indicates the place was formerly known as Yang Chou. It has been through at least one reincarnation over the years which is normally for a massage shop like this operating in Cambodia.
Although 252 Massage is situated right out in the open on a street that houses the 252 Hotel and other businesses it is possible that visitors would find it difficult to locate. The shop shares a building with the coincidentally named Boom Disco Club which is far more visible.
Customers to 252 enter through a door to the right of the building that is covered by a red awning. They pass a small indoor pond before going up a flight of stairs. Next they pass through another door before making a left and walking down a worn out hallway. Finally they go through another door on the left marked “Massage” which brings them to the lobby.
Customers see a fishbowl setup but it first appears empty due to a strategically placed mirror that reflects images of empty red seats. Walking further into the shop reveals the other side of the mirror where several women sit and wait for customers.
252 appears to be run by people of Chinese ethnicity. A man seated behind the counter takes money from customers and runs a log of which rooms are open and occupied on a blackboard. An older female manager greats customers and helps them select service providers.
The women who work at 252 Massage wear different colored pins according to their ethnicity. Khmer women wear blue pins and Vietnamese women wear red pins. At any given time there are between one and two dozen women on staff. They range in age with most appearing to be in their twenties. Nearly all are attractive and fit. Most are friendly and warm though surely more than a few would be shy about working with foreigners especially since few if any can speak English.
Customers who select a woman for a massage pay a ten dollar fee to the house. They are then led by the woman they select to one of many rooms that are rather worse for wear. Although the rooms aren’t necessarily any worse than the quarters in some of the oily massage parlors in Bangkok they do have issues. Beds and the stands that hold them are broken. The linens are clearly not regularly changed. Attached shower rooms have only hoses that provide cold water. Toilets are stained black and unable to flush. Building codes probably don’t apply either. Still the women who work at 252 go about their business in a friendly way.
There’s no way to determine which kinds and styles of services that every lady working at 252 provides. Suffice to say that the place has long been known as a short time full service massage parlor with the main even being covered and lesser events being limited when they even exist at all.
Although women working at 252 and similar places provide adult service on a regular basis they can still be coy in places as outwardly conservative as Cambodia.
The women usually provide perfunctory light back rubs for a few minutes before hinting around about other services. If a customer agrees they begin to negotiate unless the guy being serviced is a regular. The women can start out asking for tips as high as one hundred dollars though regularly paid rates are much lower with anything between twenty and fifty dollars being average.
With the exception of some mad zealots no one can fault the women who work at a place like 252 for trying to make a buck. As the regular stream of customers going in and out of the place shows 252 Massage provides a service that is desirable. It’s an average full service fishbowl massage shop for the area. Two-and-a-half stars.

I’ve been noticing the past articles have been 1 to 3 star places. Where’s the 4 to 5 star rating places? Those articles would be more enjoyable and can keep record for bucket list to check out one day.
The review before last got four-and-a-half stars. The review before that got four. In any event this website is for entertainment only. Cheers.
Ofcourse, I just can’t believe people go to that particular place or that it’s even in business lol it’s disgusting that they don’t use new sheets and the bathroom in horrible conditions
I would venture to say that the majority of commercial sex establishments in Southeast Asia follow a similar model. They are also some of the most popular though not among foreigners. Don’t forget that there is a large local market. Cheers.
I discovered this place a couple of years ago near the Phnom penh Tower. It is in the alley and I passed by many
years and finally found it by accident. Some of the rooms are filthy(worse than Indonesian) or not to a western standard so you have to look at least 2 or 3. I had a clean room and a clean sheet but the girl was not giving me any massage. Well, she didn’t know how to. Instead, she offered FS for 50 usd first and went down to 30 after 10 min. She didn’t do BJ either. So we spent the whole hr trying to negotiate but couldn’t come to an agreement. So basically, she tried to give massage but she wouldn’t or couldn’t probably. She just wanted to make easy bucks. I left and just paid the mamasan 10 usd afterwards. There were about 20 girls in the fish bowl and only a couple were hot and she was one of them . I would give about two stars or two and a half myself.
Thanks for the report. Since you visited the rooms were upgraded to some degree. The name probably changed once or twice as well. Cheers.
asking for $100 in cambodia haha
funnily enough i am sure some noob tourists pay it and think they are getting a bargain
More than a few local men regularly pay $100 or more for sex. Not necessarily at this establishment however. Cheers.
Tried this place years ago when I was running a business in phnom penh.
Selection of girls was okay, and a few are a 8/10 or better. But in terms of service, the massage was nonexistent. On entering the room, the girl pointed me off to the shower first. After which, she asked if i wanted boom-boom. Wanted $80 for dead-fish sex – no thanks. Would not lower her prices, and no way I was paying 80 bucks for it lol.
So paid the 10 bucks room fee and got out of there.
These days, I know better, after having lived in cambodia on and off. The KTVs are the way to go, for sure …
Also a few illegal brothels operating out of private residences, mostly staffed by vietnamess girls aged 18-22.
Thanks for the report. Cheers.
I went to this place today and while taking a shower, was stolen 60 USD from my wallet! I noticed this shortly after leaving the place, and of course, went back to tell what happened.
Needless to say, tha staff just laughed and told that it is not their problem.
Good learning for me, though. Never leave your wallet out of sight.
By the way, the girl was even not using oil when having a “massage”. When asked, she told that no-one uses oil. C’mon!
Thank you for the report. As far as I know, none of the women in 252 actually use oil. Most of them perform little to no massage on customers. Not leaving your wallet out of site is good practice in general. Maybe more in places such as this. Cheers.
This this place still open?
It was open the last time I checked. Cheers.
