I have interviewed people from all facets of the sex industry on this website. When it comes to porn I’ve done question and answer sessions with everyone from world famous porn stars to website owners and behind the scenes operatives. Today I present an interview with porn photographer Ricki Dick.
Ricki’s work will likely be of much interest to many of the readers of this website. That is because he shoots a lot of content with people from Thailand. That includes some work with some truly incredible looking Thai ladies. It’s really something to see.

In this case I’ve talked to a man who not only stands behind the camera but also works in front of it. Ricki Dick takes pictures, shoots video and also has sex on screen himself. You might even see he is well rounded in terms of the adult entertainment industry.
Porn has gone through many transitions. The latest has seen commerce shift from studio based porn distributed on disc to a more direct to consumer model. Ricki Dick bridges the divide. He started working for commercial porn studios and now produces professional level content that is sold through sites like OnlyFans and Fansly. I trust you will enjoy his interview.
How old are you and where are you from?
I am 45 this year. I am from Montreal, Canada.
What was your first sexual experience?
I was raped when I was 19, don’t want to say more than that. Not a family member for your information. Having experienced this I think makes me someone that respects the person I work with. I make sure we agree on boundaries before we make a scene together.
Do you remember the first time you saw porn?
First no, but use to always watch Bleu Nuit which was a channel on cable that showed porn after 11:00 pm. I use to record it on tape on the VCR.
Who is your favorite porn star of all time?
Lucy Thai, the most beautiful. She is the GOAT in my opinion.
How did you get into making porn yourself?
In my early 20’s after graduating from photography school I had friends who were paid $200 per hour to shoot porn video as the cameraman. I think on my second scene the model wanted more dick so she puledl down my pants and started sucking me. This is how I got started.
They started with 2 partners: Rhinopays and Rhinoworks (a porn production company and 64 porn site with affiliate programs). I produced a video for Brazzers and Reality Kings. At the time it was in the yearly of streaming porn and 4k was just started. I then sold my shares of the company over disagreement with the company’s direction. I took a long break and started again 2 years ago.
What are the biggest difficulties in making porn?
Now it is finding people that are professional. Models that don’t cancel or not show up. Lots of times the girls are younger so they go out drinking and clubbing. So the next time they have to work they have a hangover. That’s a weekly problem. Ha ha.
This is work for me. I want to do the best I can every time. It’s part work for me but some people make their living off this and still treated it like it nothing serious.
Have you ever run into models who have a bad odor or fail to pass an STD test?
I been lucky. Never caught an STD in my life. I get checked every 2 weeks. I take prep. I work with people that get tested.
What’s better: deepthroat or anal?
Strange question. Both are great but deepthroat is very beautiful to watch. Anal looks good for the camera.

Some people say “pay porn is dead.” Do you think this is true? Can people still make a living from porn?
Porn will never die. Porn is like NASA. What I mean is the tech and innovation NASA has developed for space has made it the everyday technology we use. The adult industry pioneered streaming video, tracking devices and online credit card transactions. Pornographers are not necessarily the inventors of new technologies, but they are the first to use them and thus drive consumer adoption. Once a technology works for porn users, they often flow down to the mainstream. Without porn, the VCR might have never taken off as a consumer product.
Yes lots of people I work with have this as their only income. Some pornstars have definitely reached the million-dollar mark within a few years. Just look at OnlyFans pornstars.
Do you think you could go back to a “regular life” in the future?
I live 2 lives. One where no one knows what I do work at a normal company dealing with high clients, and one where on the weekends I travel to a different place to make porn videos. But going back to a normal life is possible. Because for me porn is work. I work. I love and respect everyone involved. They are amazing people. At end of the day, I see it as work.
What do you think about prostitution?
I think prostitution is a hard and respectable job. I think it is one of the hardest jobs to do. Imagine if you had to have sex with people you are not attracted to or don’t like, but you do this every day, multiple times a day. I don’t like when people look down on or talk badly of sex workers. They have no idea of what they have to do. It’s simple ignorance and a false narrative that their community has made people believe.
What advice do you have for others who want to do porn?
Really think hard about it. It will follow you forever. For guys who just want fuck for free, if you think is just set your iPhone on a 10$ stand with a shitty ring light from Amazon, you might as well not start. It takes hours to shoot a 20-30-minute video, arrange lighting cameras, and changing positions. And you need to stay hard and cum when is the time to cum.
This is why guys like me are capable of doing that. I would warn the girls to be careful when so guys message you about making videos together and has no quality video to show what he’s done before. He’s a fuck boy who only wants free sex.
