Dozo Massage is a Japanese soapland style massage parlor located on Sukhumvit Soi 33 in Bangkok. Dozo took over the place and at least some of the style of the previously reviewed Mitu Massage which once existed at the same location next to the S33 Compact Hotel.
Mitu Massage is still around but it is now located in an alley across the street. It operates for the most part in the same way it did before but I will still write about the new place at some point in the near future just to keep the coverage fresh.
Dozo Massage hasn’t changed much about the old Mitu Massage space. The sign has of course been changed but even there things aren’t necessarily all that much different. For example there is still an indication that the place offers “love and massage”. I don’t know the full details of the change from Mitu to Dozo despite my best efforts to find out but I do know how things run at both places today.
There is an elevated desk to the right when customers first enter Dozo. That is staffed by one of a handful of Thai women who know how to deal with customers even if they aren’t necessarily the most customer oriented people in the business. They guide customers to a large lounge lined with leather couches where some rather explicit menus are posted.
Those menus mention things like facials and in some case even have photos of the named activities which is pretty much unheard of in the local industry. The standard options are also listed. A forty minute massage in a standard room is 1800 Baht ($58 USD) while other options including a ninety minute session with two ladies in a soapy massage style room for 6500 Baht ($208 USD).
Unlike the old Mitu the women at Dozo Massage do provide lineups for customers so they can choose their service providers in person. Pictures are available on the website too with some being censored to hide identities with others more or less untouched.
There are about a dozen and a half women working at Dozo though at any given time there may only be six or so available. Neither the website or the staff lists the stats of the women but in general they seem to be in their mid to late twenties and of average to good looks. Ultimately beauty is in the eye of the beholder but certainly there are some women working at Dozo that most men would be attracted to.
Massages go as they usually do at Bangkok massage parlors oriented to adults with the exception of a nuru or soapy slide service provided by some women to those who opt for the Mat Room at a slight extra expense. The women seem to be or less as skilled as the women who worked an Mitu in everything from body to body massages to more sensual activities including full service.
Sessions last the full allotted time and there doesn’t seem to be any clock watching. Everything is more or less on the up and up. That could help explain why the place gets so many East Asian customers since generally speaking they tend to be more demanding.
As with the old Mitu shop the new Dozo management also offers free drinks to customers on the way out. Unlike Mitu however they do not hand out free ice cream which surely must cause despair for somebody somewhere. Three-and-a-half stars.
